What Happens on Renovation Day

Most renovations are completed in one carefully managed visit. Here is how the process works.

Scarification: Removing the Problem Layer

We carry out multiple passes with professional scarifying machinery to remove excessive thatch and moss build-up.

Thatch is the dense layer of dead organic material that sits between the soil and the grass plant. In small amounts it is natural. In excess it blocks air, water and nutrients from reaching the roots.

Removing it may temporarily make the lawn look thinner and less green. That is expected. We are clearing the obstruction so new grass can establish properly.

All green waste is collected and placed in the pre-agreed on-site location.

Aeration: Relieving Compaction

Next, we aerate the lawn to open up the soil profile.

Compacted soil restricts root growth and water movement. Aeration improves airflow into the root zone and creates the ideal environment for new seed to establish. It also enhances drainage and encourages deeper rooting over time.
