What it’s for
The Lawn Hydration Program is designed to improve how efficiently your lawn uses available moisture during the growing season. By helping water move more evenly into and through the upper soil layer, it supports consistent moisture levels around the root zone, particularly during warmer, drier periods.
What to expect
We apply a premium professional-grade granular wetting agent that provides protection for at least three months. It is typically applied in March or April, then again in July or August, giving season-long coverage across spring and summer.
Once activated by rainfall or irrigation, the treatment works by reducing areas of water repellency within the soil. This allows moisture to spread more evenly rather than sitting on the surface or running off. Lawns often show more even colour and improved summer performance when moisture is managed effectively.

What Is It For
The Lawn Renovation Program is our standard comprehensive lawn renovation service. It is designed to significantly improve lawns that are underperforming due to thatch build-up, moss, compaction, thinning grass or uneven density. Using intensive mechanical processes such as heavy-duty scarification and aeration, the aim is to reset the lawn properly and restore strong, healthy growth within the existing turf base.
What To Expect
This is a multi-stage mechanical renovation carried out during optimal growing conditions, typically mid spring or ideally early autumn. The process usually includes heavy scarification, aeration, professional overseeding and a lawn hydration treatment to support establishment. Top dressing is not included as standard but can be added where appropriate as an optional upgrade.
The lawn will initially look heavily worked and disrupted. This is intentional. Over the following weeks, new grass establishment and improved density develop as the lawn recovers and strengthens.

What Is It For
The Lawn Rescue Program is designed for lawns that have deteriorated to the point where regular fee, weed or moss treatments patch repairs or surface improvements are no longer sufficient. It is effectively a fresh start using professional renovation methods to re-establish a healthy, dense lawn from the ground up.
What To Expect
This service involves intensive mechanical preparation to remove the failing surface layer, relieve compaction and create the ideal environment for large-scale overseeding. The goal is to rebuild the lawn properly rather than attempt incremental improvements.
The lawn will look significantly disrupted immediately after treatment. This is part of the process of starting again. As new grass establishes, the lawn develops into a stronger, more uniform turf surface.

What it’s for
An optional first stage of lawn renovation to kill off the entire lawn or spot spray problem weeds/coarse weed grasses (agreed before the visit).
What to expect
Treated areas will discolour before removal during the main renovation visit.
Key notes
Applied in advance of scarification and overseeding.

Scarification (Renovation)
What it’s for
For lawns suffering from excessive thatch and moss. Professional machines remove these issues to improve air and water penetration.
What to expect
The lawn may look less green and temporarily bare during recovery. Long-term benefits make it worthwhile.
Key notes
Green waste removal is not included in the price.

What it’s for:
An intensive, multi-pass mechanical scarification to remove deep layers of built-up thatch and moss from the lawn surface. This forms a key stage of our Lawn Rescue renovation programme, preparing the lawn for aeration, overseeding, wetting agent application and top dressing. The lawn will look visibly thinner and heavily disturbed in the short term, but this process significantly improves air, water and nutrient movement into the soil to support stronger, healthier regrowth. Watering after treatment will aid recovery; green waste removal is not included, although we can advise on suitable disposal options.
What to expect
The lawn may look less green and temporarily bare during recovery. Long-term benefits make it worthwhile.
Key notes
Green waste removal is not included in the price.

What Is It For
Organic Compost Top Dressing is used to improve soil health and support stronger, more resilient grass growth. It adds valuable organic matter to the soil, encouraging beneficial microbial activity, improving soil structure naturally, and enhancing seed germination and establishment during renovation work.
What To Expect
A premium compost blend is evenly applied across the lawn surface and worked into the sward following aeration or overseeding. The lawn may appear darker immediately after application, and lightly covered until rainfall and watering help it settle into the turf canopy and upper soil layer.

What Is It For
70/30 Top Dressing is designed to improve surface levels, firmness, and drainage characteristics. Made from 70% specially selected sports sand and 30% graded topsoil, it helps create a smoother, more even turf surface and can support improved seed germination and establishment during renovation.
What To Expect
The dressing is evenly applied and mechanically worked into the surface following aeration or scarification. The sand content helps open up the upper soil layer and can improve surface performance when properly integrated. The lawn may appear sandy initially but will settle naturally with rainfall and irrigation.

To maintain continuity of care and support long-term lawn health, certain services renew automatically each service year unless you cancel in writing.
These services are: Annual Treatment Plan, Aeration (all types), Lawn Hydration, Soil Improver, Scarification (annual maintenance), and Lawn Grub (chemical) Treatment.
If you proceed with a Lawn Rescue Program or Lawn Renovation Program, the Aeration and Lawn Hydration elements of those programs will be included in the following service year as part of your ongoing care.
All other services are provided on a one-off basis and will not renew automatically unless agreed with you in advance.
Early autumn is the recommended and most effective time of year for scarification (lawn renovation) and overseeding, particularly for lawns larger than 100 m² where watering larger areas can be more time-consuming. Smaller lawns are often easier to keep sufficiently watered, which can make spring seeding more practical in some cases.
Grass seed germination and establishment times vary depending on the season. Spring seeding typically takes longer to establish due to cooler soil temperatures and requires consistent watering to keep the soil moist. Regular watering through late spring and summer helps reduce the risk of heat and drought damage while the new grass is still young and developing.
Early autumn generally provides the most favourable conditions for seeding. Warmer soil temperatures combined with increased natural rainfall encourage faster germination and stronger establishment, while also reducing the amount of watering required and the overall effort needed to care for newly seeded areas.
Please read the aftercare advice that you will need to do after overseeding and scarification is done. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Green Waste removal from your property is not included in the quoted price. However, we offer a range of simple and convenient options to help make disposal easy – see here. We will always discuss the most suitable solution with you in advance so that any waste generated can be managed smoothly and with minimal inconvenience.
Lawn Weed control treatments are typically applied from mid-late spring through summer and into autumn, when growing conditions allow the treatments to work most effectively. For new customers, a full year of seasonal treatments is usually needed to bring existing weed levels under good control. While our professional treatments are highly effective, no lawn care programme can guarantee a completely weed-free lawn, as new weeds can naturally appear throughout the year. Treatments target weeds present and actively growing at the time of each visit, and improving grass density through feeding and overseeding will further strengthen the lawn’s natural resistance over time.
